Job Description:

Norton County Solid Waste is currently accepting applications for the position of equipment operator/laborer and scale operations. The candidate must have a clean, valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one, and able to maintain and operate, but not limited to: track loader, skid loader, forklift, dump truck, trash compactor, and mower. The applicant must be able to maintain accurate records and have working knowledge with computers and calculators. The applicant must possess proper telephone etiquette and the ability to meet the public in a friendly manner and give proper instructions when receiving loads. The applicant must become certified by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in handling household hazardous waste. There will be physical labor required when necessary.  Applicant required to perform maintenance on all equipment.  Lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required.  Some half day Saturdays may be required.
