The Norton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time dispatcher. Successful candidates must have computer knowledge with good communication skills.  Candidate must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, with no felony or certain misdemeanor convictions.  Dispatchers work 12 hours shifts with a rotating day off schedule.  Coverage of other shifts will be required at times.  Dispatch duties include but are not limited to computer use in dispatch systems, telecommunications, and some jail responsibilities.  Benefits include single BCBS health insurance, dental, optometry, paid vacation and sick leave, holiday pay, and KPERS retirement plan.  Starting wage is $18.00 per hour and some overtime will be required.  Applications may be picked up at the Sheriff’s Office, by calling 785-877-5780, or you may edit the PDF file that is attached to this job posting and emailing it back to adam@nortoncountyks.gov or brandi@nortoncountyks.gov
